It basically came down to making a choice: living large somewhere more "country side-y", in a less nice neighborhood and where they don't have a coffee bar close by....

You probably guessed it, but I chose the latter :) From the time I went to see this apartment and actually bought it, it took three hours!! I didn't need to think about it. I knew this is where we were going to live!
No, it's not Barbie's dream house, nor my dream house.. But for now, for my little family in the place where we are today, this is perfect! All we need! It's super tiny and I love it!! Now I just have to come up with some amazing clever ideas to fit things in here! Hahaha - Like my makeup!!

The veranda/porch has sunlight from the morning until sunset during Summer, so I can't wait until next year to enjoy some lazy afternoons there with girl friends and a bottle of sparkly red wine :)
I'm decorating the entire apartment in my head already... currently I'm trying to decide on what type of sofa to buy.. I've always wanted a white one like Ikea's Ektorp. I used to have this in a different color, so I know it's super comfy and extremely cheap! You can also wash the cover and buy a new one, which is great having a toddler in the house.. Not to mention a teenage son, who is practically more messy than the littlest one...
I would really like a light grey sofa too... what to decide!
Anyway, I'm so happy to share this good news with you! Finally something good came in my direction, right? Much needed!

Congratulations on your gorgeous apartment - I would have made the same choice - location is way more important to me than space LOL! Your view is amazing - and I love the flooring and colour scheme too.
My sister has the Ektorp sofas as well- she has 2 pairs of covers - as she frequently has to launder them. We also went with comfy easy-to-clean sofas - we have big blue microfiber couches - anytime there is a spill (milk, cookies, gravy - anything my kids make a mess with) we just wipe it off with a damp cloth and it disappears! We'll get "pretty" sofas once the kids are older :-)
What a beautiful place. Decorating a new house is SO much fun! Hope it will bring you LOADS of happiness, because you deserve it :)

O wow, it looks fantastic! I'm so happy for you, that was a good decision. We´ve done the same thing, we own a small house in the centre of Cologne, it´s small but it takes 5 min to get to H&M and 2 to Ikea, aaaaarg...lol

I absolutely love your new place! You have excellent taste in decor. We desperately need to get a new couch and dining table. Our couch actually has dents in it from our behinds! (Perhaps the couch isn't to blame. Maybe our laziness is! LOL!)

I didn't realize the ikea sofa covers were all removable before this post.. my boyfriend and i just bought a new ikea sofa last weekend and we love it.
