Being the Mac eyeshadow addict that I am, my favorite blog posts on eyeshadows are swatches and OETD/FOTD! I basically buy Mac eyeshadows just based on swatches and looks I see on other people's blog, because the closest Mac store is too far away (it would be a day trip to get there and no one would go with me, because I'm the only makeup crazy person in this town...) for me to test these colors myself. So I either order from Mac by phone, or buy though Ebay. Mostly the latter.I thought I would return the favor and swatch the ones I own in case this might be helpful to someone.
I have several LE (LE = Limited Editions) that came out with a collection and is not part of Mac's permanent eyeshadows. But a lot of them keep coming back with other collections and 9 out of 10 times, you can find LE eyeshadows on Ebay. You might have to pay a bit/lot extra, but for me some of these have definitely been worth it!
I put eyshadow primer all over my hand before applying these swatches so the colors would be more vibrant and show up true to color.

Some of these aren't really grey nor black, but colors that appear that way on the eye, so that's why I included those in here.
I have over 100 Mac eyeshadows now and I realize that I have a lot of eyeshadows that are just redundant! Colors that have different names, but looks just like each other. At this point I don't buy every Mac color that comes along, but try to get the unique ones that are not to be found in the permanent collection. I'm currently waiting for Gazette Grey from the Pret a Papier collection. :)

Great post, I love color swatches as well! I was just wondering how you took that pic with a flash and it wasn't all over exposed. Everytime I try using a flash everything is just white! Please help. lol. :)

Hi! I read a great tip for when that happens. Put a handkerchief over the flash of your camera so that only some of the light will come through and not all.
i
It also helps staying far away from the object/makeup and zoom in, instead of putting the camera up close to your makeup.
