Bye bye black hair!!

Some of you following me on Twitter know I have gone from dark brown/black hair to much lighter. This transformation has happened just within a few weeks so I'm still at the stage where I am starring at myself where ever I can see my reflection because it's just so strange! Haha!
I have received so many compliments, people saying I look younger and more tanned, so this is promising!

Before and after picture:

My goal is to have a hair color something like this:

Beautiful women! My favorite hair color is Eva Mendes' hair. Love!!!

Having dark hair is my comfort zone. I've been coloring my hair dark brown/blackish since I was around 18, I think...
I know I will get the urge to color it back at some point, but I'm giving myself a promise to go with this new hair color for the entire 2010! - The only deal breaker I am allowed is if this color freaks me out for my wedding and I really have a need to be the dark Michelle.

I'm going to leave my hair alone for a while now and just nourish it with lots of good products. Then on my February salary I'm getting highlights all over my hair again! ;)
I'll keep you posted!

Lilash ramble and Q & A's

Several months ago I started using Lilash for the first time with amazing results. My lashes grew super long, almost too long!
I stopped using it about three months ago and I thought I would share with you what happens after Lilash:

My long curly lashes kept it's length and curl for two months after I stopped using it. Then, all of a sudden new, short lashes grew out... and before I knew it I was back to my own lashes except for one thing: they are still curly!! Yey!
My lashes have always been so straight that I would have to go over them with an eyelash curler several times.

The funny, but slightly annoying thing is that a few lashes are still longer than my new short ones, so they look really uneven at this point. You can probably see that on the picture below.

Lilash Q and A's:

I've had soooo many question regarding Lilash, so I'm going to answer some of them here:

Q: Where did you buy Lilash?
A: I bought them both from Ebay. Different sellers.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Around $ 120-130

Q: How long does it take before you see results?
A: It took me about 4-5 weeks. After that they grew really fast! I didn't experience the lash curl until about 8 weeks of use.

Q: How do you use Lilash?
A: Lilash comes in a tube and the applicator is like a thin little eyeliner brush that you apply as if it was an eyeliner. I only applied on the upper lashline. Apply it every night after you have removed your makeup. You don't have to wash it off when you wake up.

Q: Did you experience any side effects?
A: Yes! Most people do, so you have to do your research and decide on your own if you think it'll be worth it before start using Lilash.

Red, irritated eyes:
The most common side effect is getting irritated, red eyes when you start using Lilash. Both myself and other friends experienced this for the first two weeks. At this point many people give up and return the bottle being really disappointed. - BUT, this shall pass! ;) The red eyes lasts for about two weeks and then it gets better. I did have occasional days when my eyes got red again after that and people thought I had cried.. Haha. Still, I never considered not using it anymore.

Once you have the desired length of your lashes, you don't have to use it every night anymore. Just use it a couple of times a week to maintain the length!

Facial hair:
Since you are applying this at night, some of the Lilash gel can (doesn't have to!) get rubbed off and travel down the cheek area. What happens then is that you will obviously get excess hair growth on your cheek! Lol. That happened to me on one side of my face (just a small area) and totally freaked me out at first. I just waxed the hairs off (at home) and my own natural "invisible" baby hairs grew back. So be aware of that!!

Discoloration of the eyelid:
I did get some discoloration of the eyelid. That is, my upper lashline where I apply the Lilash, got a little brown-redish. This was easy to conceal as I wear eyemakeup everyday. It was not noticeable when I was not wearing makeup for anyone else but myself - who knows every inch of my face of course. The discoloration went away when I stopped using Lilash.

The iris changing color
This never happened to me nor any of the girls I know who are using Lilash and have been for years. But I have read about it and I would stop using Lilash right away if that happened to me.

Q: Can I use Lilash in the morning under my makeup?
A: Yes you can, but I wouldn't recommend it. I tried it once and my eyes were blood shot and running all day. It was pretty bad. Not doing that again!

Q: How long does one tube of Lilash last?
A: I think the Lilash company says one year, but most people I know keep the tube for around 6 months. Still, that's a long time! That's $ 20 a month for longer lashes! ;) (total cost of Lilash is $ 120).

Now, I have finally got my hands on a new tube of Lilash and I'm starting to use it again.
The picture on the left is my lashes today and that I will use as a new before-picture. The picture below on the left is a close up and the picture on the right is just to remind you what my lashes looked like when using Lilash: after-picture!

Teeth bleaching haul!

If you are following my blog, you probably know I'm obsessed about white teeth!

Today I got a package in the mail with my favorite toothpaste Opal Escence and something new I wanted to try out: BriteSmile To Go pens!

I was so surprised to see the packaging with this! Wow! Felt like I was opening a Tiffany box! as if I have ever done that.... I don't know why you would place teeth bleaching products in velvet and an amazing gift box? Not that I'm complaining... It's amazing, but a bit odd!

The pens are the same kind of "system" as the YSL Touche eclat - you know, the famous highlighting/concealer pen.

How this works:
You click the pen until a small droplet of a clear gel is visible. Then apply this to the surface to the teeth. And that's it!

I thought I then had to rinse my mouth with water or brush my teeth, but you're not supposed to do that. You leave the gel on and try not to eat or drink for 30 minutes after the application.

The gel has a very slight sweet taste, but no smell. I did experience some teeth sensitivity, but nothing really worth mentioning although I just did....

Using this twice daily for two weeks will bleach your teeth. After that, you use the BriteSmile To Go pens only once in a while to keep the teeth looking white.
One pen will last 30 days of whitening.

It didn't say on the box how much Hydrogen Peroxide this contains, which to me is the most important thing and what I'm actually paying for.. but after some Google'ing I read it contains 5.25 % which is quite a bit. I'm happy! :)

I just got this today, so I can't give you a review of it - but I will! Or, I'll try that is. My teeth are already very white so I don't know how visible this result will be... but any slight change and I will let you know :)

What I'm loving is the fact that I can pop this into my purse and use it whenever and wherever!

Mac Pro Card

I finally got my Mac Pro card! Yey!
Excuse the bad camera quality! It was taken by my bad cell phone camera..

Since I am a certified makeup artist, I was able to apply for this and with it I get 40% discount on all Mac makeup.
The really unfortunate thing is that I can't use it in Norway (yet!), but in other countries I can.
What I can though, is call in an order to a British Mac store - or any other country, and have it sent to me - with the discount. So, that's a good thing! I haven't done that yet, because right now there's nothing that I'm totally wanting nor needing... Can you believe that? Think I must be sick...

Are there any Mac pro products you think is a must-have?

For a list of the benefits of a Mac pro card, read HERE!
